Description
Milan was once a port, connected to the sea by a canal system that Leonardo worked on. Most of it is buried under the streets now, but the Darsena and the two surviving Navigli still show how it worked.
Your guide rides you along the water, into the courtyards behind it, and through the engineering that made a landlocked city into a trading one.
