Description
Runkelstein holds the largest surviving cycle of secular medieval frescoes anywhere — knights, hunts, courtly romances, painted for a merchant family who wanted the world to know exactly who they were. Your guide reads the walls with you and explains what these pictures were actually for.
The walk in follows the Talvera river out of the city, a green corridor between the vineyards and the rock. You can start from the centre or meet at the castle.
