An evening crossing from Desenzano timed for the light. The boat runs down past the Grotte di Catullo — the Roman villa at the tip of the peninsula — and along the walls of the Scaliger castle, both of which look considerably better from the water than from the road.
There is a toast on board as the sun goes down behind the Brescia shore.
